How would you desscribe an onion skin cell. what does it comprise of?? thanks?
an "onion skin" cell is a plant cell with a cell wall composed of cellulose. Inside the cell wall is the cell membrane (which may not be visible because it is often pressed up against the inside of the cell wall). It does have a square shape appearance. The onion cell (if we are talking about the bulb that is underground) does not have any chlorophyll because it is not exposed to the sunlight and does not do photosynthesis. Otherwise it has a nucleus, mitochondria, ribosomes, etc. similar to any other plant cell.
