Mounting speaker mounts without screwing them into the wall?

I just purchased a home theater system and the surround sound speakers are fairly small. I ordered some speaker mounts that require them to be screwed into the wall. I rent a condo and really don't want to put holes in the wall. I just bought some adhesive strips that can be placed on the wall and act sort of like a peice of velcro. They hold 3lbs each and I can fit about 3 of them on the mounts. (The speakers only weigh a few pounds.) Does this sound like it would work. Is there a better way of doing this? Any help is much appreciated.
