i was the same way when i started too! i am not sure if they mentioned in on gilmore girls but on 7th heaven both lucy and ruthie start and both handle it completely different, which was how me and my sister did. lucy wanted hers and talked to her mom and ruthie didn't even talk to her mom when she started (which was me).... if i remember correctly it was the first episode with lucy and i don't know about ruthie...
