WWI affected farmers by?
It actually effected them in a positive way. There was a huge demand for food during WWI because of the soldiers and the foreign countries who were having trouble producing their own food because of the fighting. American farmers were taking advantage by producing abundant food crops and selling them. They were also buying lots of expensive equipment and land on credit while they were having this good fortune etc. When the fighting was over and Europe started producing its own food again many of the farmers defaulted on this credit because they weren't making the profits they were during the war.
